All pre-buy inspections will be completed as an annual inspection, meeting all requirements in FAR 43 appendix D. Additional inspection items will also be performed as indicated based on known risk factors for the particular airframe and powerplant and logbooks will also be evaluated. If the customer purchases the airplane (in a timely manner), the pre-buy inspection will be considered the same as an annual inspection and an annual inspection entry will be added to the logbooks. Once the aircraft is purchased, any repair work for faults found during the pre-buy inspection will be charged at the basic labor rate.
We are happy to complete repairs, 337’s and alterations to your aircraft. All discrepancies found during inspections will be discussed with the owner and can be completed at the same time or immediately following the inspection. We can easily schedule repair and alteration work at any other time as well.
Please give us a call if you have any maintenance needs not reflected here. We would love to see if we can meet your needs.

Unassisted
The entire inspection will be completed by Brown Bear Aviation Services in accordance with FAR 43 appendix D. This will include basic servicing such as spark plug cleaning (if able) and bearing greasing. Upon completion, a repairs report will be generated and discussed with the owner. After approval is received, all repairs will be completed at the basic labor rate.
Owner Assisted
Owner-Assisted Inspections allow aircraft owners to participate in the inspection process. This provides the owner a great opportunity to reduce overall inspection costs by completing many non-inspection related tasks themselves. It also provides a great opportunity to advance one’s own maintenance knowledge by observing and participating in the inspection process. Owners may participate as much or as little as desired in tasks such as removing cowlings, inspection covers and aircraft interior. Owners may also perform preventative maintenance items and assist in repairs. All actual inspection items will be performed by Brown Bear Aviation Services in accordance with FAR 43 appendix D. All repairs will be completed with owner approval at the basic labor rate.

We understand aircraft break at inopportune times and locations. Our goal is to get your airplane flying again as quickly and conveniently as possible and will make every reasonable effort to come to your airplane, whether the plane is in a hangar or at an outdoor location. However, please keep in mind not all repairs can be safely completed at outdoor or remote locations. Listed below are examples of how we can complete repairs based on location.
Anchorage and Mat-Su Airports
For any airport location accessible by vehicle in the Anchorage and Mat-Su Valley areas:
If the aircraft is not located in a hangar, all attempts will be made to complete the repairs out of doors. However, inclement weather or extent of the repair work may require the airplane to be towed to a rented hangar to complete repairs. Any fees accrued for the use of the hangar will be charged to the customer.
Anchorage and Mat-Su Non-Airport
For off airport locations in the Anchorage or Mat-Su Valley areas:
If the location is accessible by vehicle, all attempts will be made to complete the repairs out of doors at its current location. If the weather is too severe to safely repair the airplane, repair work may need to be delayed until weather conditions improve. If the needed repairs cannot be completed at an outdoor location, possible options will be discussed with the owner and arrangements made on a case by case basis.
Beyond
For any location outside of the Anchorage and Mat-Su Valley areas:
If the customer would like repair work performed at locations other than within the Anchorage and Mat-Su Valley areas, the work will be discussed with the owner on a case by case basis. Extra service charges may be required.
